Neuromodulators

Neuromodulator is an injectable medication that is injected to decrease the appearance of dynamic lines. between the brow in the forehead, and along the sides of the eyes. Neuromodulator works by allowing the muscles to relax, reducing the appearance of frown lines and wrinkles. The entire procedure only takes a few minutes with the expertise of our aesthetic providers, and the results can be seen within a few days. On average Botox can last anywhere from three to four months but can last up to 6 months.

Neuromodulators

What is it?
Botulinum A Toxin (Botox or Dysport or Xeomin) and Botulinum B (Myobloc) injections have been FDA approved for use in treatment of musculoskeletal issues, pain and headaches. Injection of Botox, Dysport or Myobloc into muscles causes those specific muscles to halt their function (be paralyzed), thereby helping to decrease and/or eliminate pain and improve function.

Who is a good candidate? Who is NOT a candidate?
Good candidates for neuromodulator injections are generally healthy adults who want to improve the appearance of facial wrinkles, such as frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead lines. Neuromodulator can also be used to treat medical conditions such as chronic migraines, excessive sweating, and muscle spasms.
Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a history of allergic reactions to botulinum toxin or any of the ingredients in neuromodulator should not receive injections. Patients with certain neuromuscular disorders or infections in the injection area may also not be good candidates for neuromodulator.

How is the treatment done?
During the treatment, doctor will inject small amounts of neuromodulator into specific muscles using a fine needle. The procedure is usually quick and relatively painless, and patients can usually return to their daily activities immediately after the treatment.

It can take a few days to see the results of neuromodulator injections, and the effects typically last three to six months, depending on the individual and the area treated.
